Overview and introduction

General information

1. Preface

This manual provides an overview of instruction for use of Imetric's scanning software version 8. Registered names and trademarks which may appear within this document and on these webpages are the proprietary property of their respective owners. For clarity's sake, we will avoid adding the "Registered" (®), "Trademark" (™) or "Copyright" (©) symbols to these names, and instead will generically mark them with an * which denotes names that are the property belonging to their respective owners and the names do not belong to Imetric 3D SA.

2. Precautions

To minimize temperature fluctuations within Imetric scanners, it is highly recommended the scanner be placed on a stable bench or stable desktop located away from direct sunlight exposure (i.e. away from windows without shaded glass or without window shades) to prevent sunlight from contacting and causing heating of the scanner chassis.

In regions with known issues of voltage fluctuations in the electrical supply, it is strongly recommended that the Imetric scanner and computer be connected to an Uninterruptible Power Supply featuring a Sine Wave Output and AVR - Automatic Voltage Regulation (such as an APC Smart-UPS 750VA LCD 230V, for operation on 220/240 VAC 50/60 Hz electrical supplies or an APC Smart-UPS 750VA LCD 100V, for operation on 100/120 VAC 50/60Hz electrical supplies).

The scanner and computer should be located and operated in a clean, low dust environment that is far from sources of airborne dust and contaminants. Failure to place and operate the scanner and computer in a clean environment can lead to dust build-up, deposits and obstructions upon critical

3. Scanner Functionality

The same functionality to each specific model scanner that existed in the prior version of Imetric scanning software will still apply and exist with the new version 8 Imetric scanning software; the differences between the different models of Imetric scanners are outlined in the following table.
