Maintenance

The scanner and computer should be located and used in a clean, low dust environment that is far from sources of airborne dust and contaminants.

Imetric strongly recommends that the air intake and exhaust ports on the rear chassis of the scanner be cleaned each month. The ports may be cleaned by first powering the scanner off and then using the suction hose of a vacuum cleaner to remove any accumulated debris from the rear ports of the scanner.

The operator may also clean the interior workspace of the scanner. The interior workspace may be cleaned by first powering the scanner off, manually pivoting the swing arm axis rearward and using the suction hose of a vacuum cleaner to remove any accumulated debris from the interior floor of the scanner.

NEVER use compressed air to clean the interior or exterior of the scanner. Use of compressed air will cause dust and debris to become airborne and deposit on critical components within the scanner, degrading both performance and lifespan of the components.
